Police Arrest Individuals Involved in Online Lottery Fraud Racket by Nickels Frank July 17, 2011

This past week, Lucinda Aebiola, a woman from Ghana, was arrested for taking part in the online lottery fraud racket that recently occurred on the internet.  On December 16th, Emanuel Augustine, Aebiola’s husband, was arrested after authorities caught him and his companion, Ravindrasingh Waccher, involved in an online lottery scam.  Police seized a number of pen drives, cellular phones, SIM cards, laptops and phony demand drafts on foreign banks.

After police interrogated the two men, it was revealed that Aebiola was also involved in the criminal activity and helped make the fake documents that captured real online targets.  According to the officers of the law, the criminal group attempted to convince internet users to think that they had won huge prizes in lotteries that were completely bogus. The fraudulent documents that were used to deceive people required players to cover a registration fee before they could withdraw the prize they had “won”.
